The weather was cloudy but dry last Saturday, June 15th when we hosted our 10th Annual Tenant Appreciation Picnic at the Minnesota Zoo. Tenants and their families were treated to lunch catered by Lancer Hospitality. Hot dogs, build-your-own walking tacos, and mini doughnuts were served with your choice of dipping sauce. Kids cruised through the temporary tattoo station getting glitter tattoos of seahorses or dinosaurs. Additionally, kids spent time jumping around on the monster truck themed inflatable slide or pirate ship bouncy house.

Following the picnic festivities, all attendees were given a ticket for free admission to the Minnesota Zoo for the day. Wandering throughout the zoo, many families were spotted petting Leopard Sharks and Manta Rays at the Discovery Bay Aquarium or running around one of the zoo’s imaginative playgrounds: Hanifl Family Wild Woods Play Area and Woodland Adventure. Another popular spot for kids to cool off was the recently opened splash pad near the Central Plaza.

Along with the usual spectacular line up of zoo animals, this year’s seasonal exhibit Llama Trek, featured an open area where guest could walk along a path beside llamas roaming freely. This exhibit also featured an ostrich-like bird from South Africa called a Rhea, camel rides and guided walks with llamas.

With an estimated 1100 in attendance, this year’s Tenant Appreciation Picnic was one of our largest yet. We are so thankful to work with such wonderful people every day and we’re glad we get to share a little joy and adventure (outside the office) with them and their families each year. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it!
