Medical specialists will be tenants in two new buildings planned to be constructed in Woodbury this year.

Both are located on major roadways, and specialty doctors are already signed on to move into both once they’re built.

The first, City Centre Professional Building, will be a 54,500 square foot, three-story office building on Radio Drive and Donegal Drive south of King of Kings Lutheran Church.

The residential growth in Woodbury has spurred growth in office and medical use, said Alex Young, Vice President of MSP Commercial, which is developing the project.

“Once the rooftops are there, the services then start to trickle in and fill in,” said Young, whose company owns similar buildings at 7616 Currell Blvd. and 1000 Radio Drive.

Young said he expects between five and 10 tenants, with various staff-sizes to move into the building, which will be open in the first quarter of 2007.

The building could hold anything from a dentist’s office to an ob/gyn’s office, he said, and will likely have both medical and professional office tenants.

A second office building, CornerStone Medical Specialty Center, is planned to be built on the southeast corner of Lake Road and Century Avenue.

The center, a proposed 55,493 square-foot, two-story office building, is being developed by Frauenshuh Companies Development and Metro Urology, which will have an office in the new building.

At press time, Metro Urology representatives could not be reached for comment.

A public hearing on plans for the CornerStone Medical Specialty Center was scheduled for the June 14 City Council meeting.
