A key player in the Twin Cities’ real estate community, and with more than 25 years’ experience in developing, managing and leasing commercial real estate, including conventional, tax-exempt and international finance, Dick brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every transaction he directs.
Dick’s background encompasses office, retail and industrial development, management, brokerage, leasing, and marketing. He also has extensive experience in the repositioning and development of all types of properties, with an emphasis on downtown, mixed-use real estate, as well as Suburban office, medical and industrial development.
Recent projects include the direction of over 750,000 square feet of industrial and office/warehouse and business park development. Dick oversaw the design, site assembly, construction and development management, including all municipal approvals, construction loan, lease negotiation and administration, pre-leasing, leasing, and, where planned, pre-sale to institutional buyers.
Over the most recent six year period, Dick, through MSP Commercial, has successfully developed, leased and financed medical and professional office buildings in Eagan, Woodbury, Stillwater, Lakeville and Hudson.
Dick has well established investor and banking relationships throughout the Twin Cities.
He was an executive and Regional Manager with Welsh Companies from 1994 until 2004. In previous positions with Zehring & Angleson (which was sold to Welsh in 1994), and BCE Development, Dick was instrumental in all areas of commercial real estate, including financing, acquisitions, construction management, marketing, redevelopment, property management, design and analysis.
Dick is an active member of many professional organizations, including: National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Building Owners and Managers Association, Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR), and the Board of Realtors. Additionally, he sits on the boards of several organizations, including: Wells Fargo Bank Minnesota (East Metro), United Hospital of St. Paul, and the Boy Scouts. He served as chair for the St. Paul Area YMCA (2005-2006), and is currently President of the St. Paul Police Foundation.
